How do I log in to my router?
Your router saves your home Wi-Fi network’s configuration. To modify your network, you must access your router. From there, you can rename your network, change the password, change the security level, set up a guest network, and more. But first, how do you get into your router to make changes?
- Find out what your router’s IP address is.
Most routers use 192.168.1.1. That’s not always the case, so double-check your router’s address. Open the command prompt by typing CMD in the Windows search box and pressing Enter. To run the command, type ipconfig and hit Enter. Scroll down till you see Default Gateway under Ethernet or Wireless LAN adapter. The number next to it is your router’s IP address.
- Find Username and Password
After entering the IP address, you’ll be prompted for a username and password. You may have created a unique username and password while setting up your router, or it may be the default username and password. Log in with your own username and password. Some routers have password recovery. If your router has this feature, it should appear after a set amount of incorrect username and password entries. many use admin as the username and password as the password. See if that combo works. Otherwise, you can search online for your router’s default username and passwords, such as Netgear, Linksys, Asus, or TP-Link. If you still can’t log in, you’ll need to reset your router.
How to RESET Linksys Router
To access the router setup page, you must have the current router login password. The Linksys router does not provide a password recovery wizard, thus resetting the existing password is the only option. Another reason is to fix connectivity issues caused by incorrect settings, but you can’t pinpoint the error. Your router normally has a reset button. Locate the RESET button and follow the steps mentioned below.
- Hold the Reset button for 30 seconds.
- Ensure the Power, Internet, and WLAN buttons are blinking.
- Wait 30 seconds after releasing the reset button until all three lights are steady.
